Everything you need to know about Safe Haven Sober Living — from moving in to setting up your benefits.

Payment & Costs

We accept two forms of payment:

  • Self-Pay — Pay monthly directly to Safe Haven. No county paperwork required. Move in quickly once your application is approved and your first month's payment is made.
  • DSS / Temporary Assistance — Nassau County DSS can cover your housing costs through Temporary Assistance. See the steps below for how to set this up.

Pricing varies depending on availability and the specific home. Contact us directly to get current pricing and check availability.

Your monthly payment covers your room, utilities, and a stocked kitchen. We take care of the essentials so you can focus on your recovery.

DSS / Temporary Assistance Setup

Follow these four steps carefully. Incomplete or incorrect paperwork will delay your benefits.

01
Complete Your Forms

Fill out all three forms completely and correctly:

— Shelter Verification Form

— Affidavit

Every form must include your exact move-in date and exact address. Double-check before submitting.

02
Bring Forms to Nassau County DSS

Take your completed forms in person and hand them in at the window. Bring a valid photo ID.

Let them know you already submitted your paperwork and are calling to follow up.

Get Your Case Number & Case Worker Info

Once processed, obtain your Case Number and Case Worker's name and contact info. Send both to your Safe Haven house manager right away.

Processing times vary. After submitting, watch your mail for a letter with your case information. If you have not heard back, call (516) 227-8519 and press 5 for Temporary Assistance.
